Google may harm your computer

Google may contain badware!

Earlir today Google flagged every site with the statement “This site may harm your computer” in its search results on both Google.com and Google.co.uk.  I saw this issue live, and immediately started using Yahoo for search.

Microsoft threatens a $44.2bn hostile takeover of Yahoo!

If you live under a rock, and you havent heard yet, yesterday Microsoft sent Yahoo an offer of $44.2bn. The ‘offer’ values the shares at more that twice the previous days share value, is set to become the largest hostile takeover in technology history.

This is proper “Green IT”, surely it wont be long before manufacturers are offering huge sums of cash for the secrets of perpetual motion.

TV-Links site shut down by FACT

This week, the site www.tv-links.co.uk was shutdown and a 26 year old man from Cheltenham was arrested for offences relating to the facilitation of copyright infringement. The site, which provided links to stream television and film files but did not host any of the copyright material, has been shutdown due to “providing links to illegal film content that has been camcorded from within a cinema and then uploaded to the Internet” according to FACT (Federation Against Copyright Theft).
